CLUB Chairman and u15 manager
I first became associated with Coxheath & Farleigh Junior Football Club 15 years ago when my son joined the club in the 2002 season, and like many of you supported as a parent from the touch line. I then became a manager in 2003 and took the same team right the way through to Under 18’s. During this period we were successful in reaching two Cup Finals at both Under 13s and Under 15s, losing the first one on penalties and winning the latter two years later., as well as achieving success in a number of Tournaments and gaining promotion on 4 occasions.
I took my FA Level 1 Coaching Qualification Coaching Badge in 2004, and have held a number of roles within the Club, however my proudest moment was when I was fortunate enough to be nominated as The Club Chairman, a position I hold in great esteem, having been associated with the village since moving here in 2000, and my overall goal is to continue to work with the Club Committee and develop the club further and raise the overall status within the community and gain the recognition it truly deserves.
This has partially been achieved by gaining Charter Standard Status but this is just the beginning.
After the Under 18s finished a few seasons ago retirement beckoned, but I am pleased to say temptation and my love of the game was too great and I returned to management and currently manage the Under 15s who I am very proud of, as they have continued to develop and last season; not only did they win there first tournament but also achieved Runners Up spot in the league, which was another milestone achieved.
As Club Chairman, I am always available should you have any questions and enjoy supporting and watching the younger teams whenever I can, whether this be by simply attending training session or attending league matches, as I consider this essential in showing my commitment to the club whilst also getting to know the parents and working closely with not only my fellow committee members but also staff and volunteers, who devote so much time to CFJFC.
